Sheep for Halloween

Sharon Quick has just finished her Annie Lane Halloween canvas.  It's called "Sheepy Wicked" and shows a sheep wearing a witch hat beside a black cauldron full of three startled chickens.  Are they brewing up anti-wolf potions?  Or just bathtub gin?  Who knows!?!  The photo shows the finished piece inserted in Sharon's Lee bag with a bit of extra stitching on the sides to make the canvas the exact size.  Want three scheming sheep of your own?  Message Sharon via Facebook to arrange a guide for your own Halloween fun.

Sharon has also finished Annie Lane's "Spinning Wool."  Sharon sees the sheep getting dirtier and dirtier as they roll down the hillside.

Melissa Shirley, Pixie Dust Added UPDATED

Take a look at this Melissa Shirley purse canvas.  It comes in three separate color ways which you can see at the bottom of the page.  Boring, right?
http://melissashirleydesigns.com/galsearch/index.cgi?index=1338579405_16070&col=&cat=

Not after Sandy Arthur gets her hands on it!  Add Sandy's pixie dust to a canvas and you get magic, as you can see from the photo below of one of the finished purses from a class Sandy did at the Needle Bug in Montgomery, Alabama.  It'll knock your socks off!

Courtesy of The Needle Bug

Sandy is finalizing the stitch guide for this.  You'll be able to pick it up from her website (first link below) and I bet the Needle Bug (second link below) will be happy to get the canvas, guide and thread kit for you in your choice of color ways.

Yolanda Has a Guide

Sandy Arthur continues to have an "exciting" life this year.  (She broke her leg last winter.)
http://sandyarthur.blogspot.com/2014/08/living-with-technology-what-week-i-have.html

When you get over the sympathetic shock (and stop worrying about YOUR devices), note that Sandy's mystery class using the Day of the Dead Yolanda from Tapestry Fair is over and the stitch guide will be available from Sandy shortly.  So if you didn't take Sandy's class, you can still participate via Sandy's guide.  Here is the finished model.  The guide is now (November 2014) available.

After all, we all need a sombrero and beads like Yolanda's!

TNNA Winter Market 2014 Stitch Guide News

I decided to gather all the stitch guide news from the San Diego Market in one place--here!

Amy Bunger says Cindy McKown is going to do a stitch guide for Melissa Shirley's new witch canvas.  Here is Melissa's canvas.  There's no photo of the model since the canvas just came out.
http://melissashirleydesigns.com/galsearch/index.cgi?index=1382044750_26409&col=

Amy shared a photo of Cindy McKown's Raymond Crawford Christmas set, too.  I think Cindy works at Nashville Needleworks.

Here is what Kreinik says about the Favorite Things pieces and Cynthia's guides.

Melissa Shirley has just finished the stitch guide for her Winter Table, one of a series of seasonal table still lives that she just released.

Other folks have also done new guides for Melissa's work.  The What's New section of her website shows Beverly Churchfield's guide for her Beach Birds, Jan Ayeroff's guide for her Stitching Witches,  and both Easter and Valentine cracker guides from the duo of Palma Seljan and Cynthia Thomas.

Ruth Schmuff has been busy with new guides.  She's done one for Tapestry Fair's Egyptian dog, which is a companion piece to Ruth's version of Tapestry Fair's Egyptian cat Bastet.

Her guide for Ewe and Eye's twirling snowmen is a stunner!

Ruth also has a guide for her Silly Elf, a small Santa in wild socks out for a stroll during the (green) moonlight.
http://www.notyourgrandmothersneedlepoint.com/2013/12/santa-stopped-by.html

Ruth's shop Bedecked and Beadazzled often has Brenda Hart in to teach and Brenda has done guides for two canvases for the shop.  The first is Ewe and Eye's Candy Rush, the snowman skiing down the mountain on his candy canes.  The second is Melissa Shirley's beach birdhouses piece (second link).  From winter to summer, Brenda Hart does it all!
http://www.notyourgrandmothersneedlepoint.com/2014/01/snow-is-on-my-mind.html

Finally, Robin King has been so busy writing guides she hasn't had time to update her blog (first link).  Robin does post photos of a canvas when she finishes a guide on her Facebook page (second link) so check there to see what fun she has been up to.  Robin also maintains a Pinterest page with guides listed there under "Robin King Needlepoint."

The Twelve Days of Christmas Santa from Amanda Lawford

Stitch By Stitch in Larchmont, NY has announced a stitch guide is available for one of Amanda Lawford's wonderful large stand up Santas.  This is the Twelve Days of Christmas Santa.  The guide is by Marina.  Usually Amanda has three different sizes available for her stand up Santas.  I'm sure the guide will work for all of them.

New Guides from Amy Bunger's Shop Updated

Amy's Golden Strand has announced two new stitch guides--one for Melissa Shirley's patriotic Fourth of July Basket and one for Rogue Needlepoint's Queen Jane Seymour in the Henry VIII and His Wives set.  Two more guides are underway--Vicki Sawyer's "Garden Party" (she is a new designer to be distributed by Melissa Shirley starting at the Dallas trade show in early September) and Melissa Shirley's "Winter White" basket.  AND Amy is selling some of Sandy Arthur's guides for Rogue Needlepoint's Downton Abbey characters.
http://www.amybunger.com/f/0814.pdf

By the way, Julia Snyder just posted on Facebook she's going to do a guide for Garden Party, too. I love choices!  Julia's guide will be available in February 2015 and she will be teaching this at various shops.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10202540964340314&set=gm.703034883107006&type=1&theater

AND Laura Taylor is going to do her own version.  I assume Julia's and Laura's classes will be available as guides eventually but I'm not 100 percent sure.
